Dr. Konard Hauffe & Care Team:
Dr. Konard Hauffe and his family have been a part of the Brookings community for nearly 30 years. He and his wife Penny have 4 grown children, and 8 grandchildren. In his free time, Dr. Hauffe enjoys gardening, canning, and creating unique items in his shop.
Konard Hauffe DDS was honored with the Patriot Award in recognition of extraordinary support of his service member employee by the Department of Defense program, South Dakota Employer Support of the Guard & Reserve.
The Patriot Award, created by ESGR, publicly recognizes individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who, like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve.
Cantine, retired colonel from South Dakota Army National Guard, nominated Dr.Hauffe stating he “goes above and beyond to ensure I am able to have time off for drill or needing to leave early. He has never questioned my service and is one of my biggest supporters. He is constantly praising me for my service. I probably would not have re-enlisted if I did not have the support of Dr. Hauffe and my family.” Dr. Hauffe was very honored by this award stating he will always be a supporter of the South Dakota Army National Guard.
As a retired Colonel and State Dental Officer, Dr. Hauffe's deployments to the less privileged parts of the world showed him that dental needs have just as much to do with attaining better health as it does with visual aesthetics. How dentistry assists in that realization depends on the individual person and the society in which they live. Dr. Hauffe believes it is his part is assist in that role, and he does no matter where he is.
While Dr. Konard Hauffe and his family originates from South Dakota, he graduated from Oakton High School in Vienna, VA. Dr. Hauffe received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota in 1988. He started undergraduate studies at SDSU and completed his undergraduate at University of Minnesota where he earned a bachelor of science in microbiology and a bachelor of arts in theatre.
Konard Hauffe DDS is a member of the South Dakota Dental Association, American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry.
